"The Serbian delegation, to be headed by Serbian President Boris Tadic, will have a rather complex task at the General Assembly session - to counteract a major diplomatic offensive of Pristina and its allies, the aim of which is to substantially increase the number of countries which recognize Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence before December 1, the beginning of a public hearing before the International Court of Justice (ICJ)," Jeremic said.
"According to our information, the hearing to be held before the ICJ will be a historical one, taking into account that this will be the first time that all permanent members of the
SC will participate in a process before the ICJ," he added.
"Therefore, Serbia is preparing its presentation at the General Assembly very actively, and my current goal is to arrange with ambassadors meetings which will be held during the General Assembly session," Jeremic said.
On the other hand, the meetings with the nearest assistants of the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon were aimed at the analysis of the current situation in Kosovo and the progress made so far in fulfilling the six-point plan.
"We have informed the UN representatives about the difficulties that Serbs and other non-Albanians in the province are facing and shared our concern over Pristina's constant refusal to adhere to SC's binding decisions," Jeremic underscored.
