Slovakia: We resisted pressure to recognize Kosovo
Slovakia has been under pressure to recognize Kosovo's unilateral secession, but it has succeeded in resisting it, its State Secretary Olga Algayerova said at the Balkans panel hosted by the Kosovo Compromise project at the 19th Economic Forum in Krynica, Poland.

"We did not and we will not recognize Kosovo", Algayerova told the audience at the largest economic and political gathering in Central and Eeastern Europe, dubbed "the Davos of Eastern Europe".
"Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence was not in accordance with international law ... and it could provoke similar action elsewhere", she underlined, adding that European borders cannot be changed "unilaterally".
"The dissolution of Czechoslovakia was based on mutual agreement" by Prague and Bratislava, she said.
Algayerova said Bratislava was under pressure to recognize Kosovo at first, but added that "now, everyone is clear about our position".
