17 KLA members on trial in Belgrade for killing 80 civilians
Seventeen members of the ethnic Albanian Kosovo Liberation Army, indicted for the murder of 80 civilians in 1999, will face the Special court for war crimes in Belgrade starting from today.

The former members of the so-called KLA "Gnjilane group" are indicted for killing, torturing and raping 80 Serbs, non-Albanians as well as several Albanians, from June to December 1999.
Nazif Hasani, Ahmet Hasani, Faton Hajdari, Samet Hajdari, Ferat Hajdari, Kamber Sahiti, Selimon Sadiku, Agus Memisi and Burim Fazliju were arrested in late 2008, while Fazlija Ajdari, Redzep Alija, Sacir Saciri, Sefketu Musliju, Sadik Alija, Idriza Alija, Semsija Nuhi and Ramadan Halimi will be tried in absentia, as they are still on the run.
