Stanzel: Germany has made no decision on Kosovo status
The German Foreign Ministry's political director, Volker Stanzel, denied media claims that Germany has decided to acknowledge Kosovo's independence, describing them as "unsubstantiated speculation."

Germany will wait for the end of the Kosovo negotiations before making a clear stand on status, Stanzel said in Pristina, after talks with Kosovo officials.
According to him, only if the negotiations run by the Contact Group's troika fail to result in a solution by December 10 should consideration be given to further actions.
He said the deadline for negotiating a solution would be December 10, with no further extensions.
"There will be no delays after December 10. It should be possible to find a negotiated settlement, but if it's not possible, then December 10 is the decisive date," Stanzel said.
He declined to comment on the alleged proposal by EU representative in the troika Wolfgang Ischinger to arrange relations between Kosovo and Serbia based on the former treaty between East and West Germany.
The Kosovo officials said they expected Germany and the EU to play important parts in resolving the status after December 10.
