Georgian opposition calls on Washington to withdraw recognition of Kosovo
The opposition Georgian Labor Party leader Shalva Natelashvili called upon the US and Russia to revise the decisions on the recognition of Kosovo, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

`We call upon the US and Russian presidents before the G20 summit begins, to denounce the recognition of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Kosovo simultaneously,` Natelashvili announced.
The opposition party leader thinks their refusal to denounce recognition of the three regions "may push over 8000 ethnic groups to demand their recognition, which will be the beginning of global catastrophe".
The US-sponsored unilateral secession of the ethnic Albanian community in Kosovo has created a worldwide precedent for unilateral secessions elsewhere, including in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which subsequently broke away from Georgia and were recognized by neighbouring Russia.
