"The future status of Kosovo should be defined in accordance with the standards of international law", Choroyanu said after a meeting with EU ambassadors in Bucharest.

In the meantime, Algeria and Cuba voiced their strong support for the territorial integrity of Serbia in separate meetings with Serbian officials.

"Algeria strongly backs the finding of a compromise and negotiated solution for the future status of Kosovo", Serbian minister for Energy in Mining Aleksandar Popovic said after discussions with officials in Algiers.

In Havana, Serbian Agriculture Minister Slobodan Milosavljevic said that Cuba "absolutely and without any reserve supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia in the Kosovo process".

"Cuba has expressed its willingness, as the chairman of the Movement of non-aligned countries, to put forward a document about the rejection of changes to the internationally-recognized state borders", Milosavljevic said.
