Popovic said that Serbia's ownership over property in Kosovo is an "irrefutable fact and argument" and that it should a part of every future discussion on the future of Kosovo.
"In the last 60 years, Serbia has invested 17 billion dollars in Kosovo", Popovic said, underlining that it is the US which is the most firm supporter of the right of ownership.
"This is why Washington is the right place for beginning such discussion", he underlined.
Popovic described the situation in Kosovo as "catastrophic", dubbing Kosovo an "economic ghetto".
« Kosovo is the territory with the highest unemployment and lowest GDP in Europe », he said, arguing that Kosovo was economically viable « only within the borders of Serbia ».
« Without a strong integration of Kosovo's economy with the economy of other parts of Serbia, it is impossible to create conditions for the economic development of this territory », Popovic said.
