70 percent of Czechs argue US and EU tricked Serbia over Kosovo

Only 25 percent of Czechs believe that the Kosovo Albanian unilateral declaration of independence was legal or at least approvable, while an overwhelming 75 percent argue that it was illegal, says a new poll.

In a poll conducted by the Czech television CT24, 69.7 percent of people said the US and the EU tricked Serbia over Kosovo's UDI, while an additional 5.4 said that it was "most likely" illegal.

On the other side, 21,9 percent said that the independence of Kosovo was legal because every nation had the right to self-determinationa, while another three percent said they favored the UDI although they admit it was against international law.

The Czech government of former Primer Miniter Mirek Topolanek recognized Kosovo's secession despite strong popular opposition to the move.
