Jeremic said that his meeting with Ban will focus on Kosovo, the UN mission in the province, UNMIK, its role and budget in 2010, and the manner in which the mission should continue to externally represent the temporary institutions in Pristina, as it has done until now.

"An important Security Council session is ahead of us in January," Jeremic said, and announced that while in New York, he would also meet with the ambassadors of the five countries that will become UN SC non-permanent members starting January 1.

"The first UN Security Council with new membership is of great importance for the course of the international debate in 2010. We are preparing for that session carefully and I will travel to New York as part of those preparations," the foreign minister explained.
