Bush is meeting Sarkozy on Tuesday at the White House, and Kosovo will find itself in the company of Burma, Irak, Iran, Syria, Avganistan and Darfour as a hotspot problem.
The meeting with Merkel is planned for Friday.
Ahead of the visit, the German government said it wants the future of Kosovo to be determined peacefully and in agreement with all sides, German government's spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm said on Monday.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Jaeger rejected media speculations according to which the German government had already decided to recognise Kosovo without any delay if Pristina unilaterally declared independence.
According to his aides, Bush is particularly interested in hearing from Sarkozy and Merkel about their recent meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin on relations with Moscow.
