Italian ambassador: Kosovo talks could restart after ICJ ruling
Italy expects that talks on a permanent solution for the Kosovo status could restart following the opinion of the International Court of Justice, expected in the spring of 2010, Italian ambassador to Belgrade Armando Varricchio said.

"We are expecting the decision of the court, which should be published in the spring, and after that we believe that a new round table will be organized with the participation of states of the region and friendly countries such as Italy, in order to seek a solution which could be long-lasting and acceptable to both sides", Varricchio said.
He added that the reduction of Kfor troops in Kosovo will not decrease the level of security, in particular of of Serb religious objects, which are protected by Italian troops.
