Belgrade sends thanks to 128 states which did not recognize Kosovo
Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic has written a thank-you letter to his colleagues from the 128 countries which did not recognize Kosovo's unilateral secession from Serbia and called on them to keep that stance.

Jeremic said that the International Court of Justice is about to bring a decision next year in the Kosovo case and that the upcoming period is "critical" because the ICJ opinion could become a "strong precedent, with wide consequences for the whole international community".
According to Jeremic, the decision should not be prejudged and the court should bring a decision "without political pressures, such as new recognitions of the unilateral independence of Kosovo".
Jeremic reminded that two key arguments were brought before the ICJ.
According to the first one, Kosovo's unilateral secession is against international law since it breaks down the guarantees for territorial integrity and sovereignty of UN members.
It is also against the text of the UN SC resolution 1244 about the UN administration in Kosovo, which only the Security Council can cancel - which did not occur.
On the other side, supporters of Kosovo's secession have argued that this act is not against international law and that leaving a negotiations process is legitimate if there is no room for compromise.
"Our view is that the legalization of the so-called ‘right to secession', presented by the authors of Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence, would destroy the established rights in the world order ... as a consequence, many current conflicts could escalate, frozen conflicts could revive, and new conflicts could be provoked", Jeremic has warned.
