Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic told movement delegates meeting in Manila that more than 80 percent of its member states have not recognized "the separatists in Kosovo".

He called their decision for Serbia "truly gratifying."

"Our diplomatic efforts are entering a key phase. Ahead of us is still a difficult task, but we will, as we have thus far, continue to make maximum efforts." Jeremic said.

"It is crucial that you maintain your principled stance, for this case will constitute a strong precedent," Jeremic said. "It marks the first time that the International Court of Justice has been asked to consider the legality of a unilateral attempt by an ethnic minority to partition a U.N. member state."

He stressed that the conclusion of the case will have extensive consequences for the international community, including the Nonaligned Movement.

"Imagine how many countries represented in this chamber would be affected by the legitimization of secession," Serbian Foreign Minister concluded.
