The council works in the cabinet of the Kosovo president and enables officials of minority communities to comment on laws and political initiatives of the government.

CDS stated that the Montenegrin community was removed from the council "without explanation," and that it was stated to officials that a mistake had been made.

The party said that "this act from the highest level of government in Pristina makes it clear again, and unwaveringly sends a message to Podgorica what the Kosovo administration thinks about Montenegrins there and Montenegro, and what its intentions are towards the national community."

"In this way, the further demonization of the Montenegrins in Kosovo continues, while the government in Montenegro, at the same time, does not help with its silence to improve the situation of the Montenegrin community in Kosovo," the statement adds.

CDS said that the goal of such relations towards Kosovo Montenegrin is to create an atmosphere for the persecution of the small number of people left in that community.

"Some Albanian political directions in Montenegro are also to blame for creating this kind of atmosphere, whose hate speak towards Kosovo Montenegrins recently was a sign of such an epilogue," the party adds.

The party said that Podgorica warned of possible dangers for the Montenegrin community in Kosovo earlier.
