"New North Mitrovica not before late 2010"
The new municipality of "North Mitrovica" in Kosovska Mitrovica will not be formed before late 2010 or early 2011. This is according to Kosovo Albanian government in Pristina Minister of Local Government Administration Sadri Ferati.

In an interview for the Tirana-based TV station, Ferati said that the forming of the new municipality "is disrupted by the influence of Serb parallel structures in northern Kosovo".
The forming of the new municipality, according to Ferati, "should be preceded by activation of judicial system and system of tariffs" in the and giving "new authorities" to the Kosovo police, KPS, and EULEX.
The new municipality is envisaged by the Ahtisaari plan. The plan for Kosovo's supervised independence was never approved by the UN, and was rejected by Belgrade.
Kosovska Mitrovica is ethnically divided into northern, predominantly Serb, and southern, ethnic Albanian part.
