Several dozens of Albanians protested over the return of representatives of 26 Serb families to a village near Istok in Kosovo.

The protest has been ongoing for several days, reports said.

Last week, 26 displaced families spontaneously returned to the village of Zac, which they were forced to leave in 1999.

The Albanians have been staging one-hour protests in this ethnically mixed village for the past three days, claiming that the returnees include those who had taken part in "murders and kidnapping of Albanians during the war in Kosovo".

The returnees are staying in UNHCR tents, while the protests will continue.
