Konuzin: No reason to abolish Resolution 1244
Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Konuzin stated that under the present circumstances, there is not reason to abolish the existing and pass a new resolution on Kosovo.

"Under the circumstances, when UN SC Resolution 1244 has not been implemented, it is first necessary to complete the process related to the status of Kosovo that is discussed in the existing resolution. I see the attempts to offer a new resolution as a wish to abolish Resolution 1244 as a legal basis for resolution of the Kosovo status, " said Konuzin for Belgrade daily Danas.
The Russian Ambassador added that, as far as he knows, "it is unacceptable for the Serbian Government, and Russia strongly supports Belgrade's position on this issue."
