Cyprus supports Serbia on the Kosovo status and in efforts for membership in the EU, the commander of the Cyprus National Guard, general Petros Calikidis said.

After talks with Serbian Army Chief of Staff Miloje Miletic in Belgrade, he said the Kosovo issue should be based on the international law and in line with the UN Charter.
We confirmed our joint solution to improve bilateral relations, friendship and cooperation, especially in the military field, he said, thanking Serbia for the support it gives in the finding of a permanent and sustainable solution for the long-term Cyprus issue.
