Jeremic thanked Gabon for its support to Serbia in regards to the issue of Kosovo, announcing that the bilateral relations between the two countries are entering a new, better quality, phase.

"It is not easy to support Serbia. Countries worldwide are under pressure to give up the support. Gabon was also under pressure, but did not give in, and that is why we are grateful," Jeremic told a joint news conference.

Toungui said that his country supports the principle of solving problems within the United Nations and, in particular, the principle of non-interference in internal affairs of other states.

Jeremic also expressed gratitude to Mali on Friday for not having recognized the Kosovo Albanian UDI.

He also expressed gratitude over the African country's decision to support Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, adding that "nowadays, such a principled stand proves independence and courage of a country".

"Just like Serbia, Mali is resistant to pressure and for that reason, Mali can count on Serbia's support in the international organizations, just as Serbia can count on Mali's support," Jeremic stated.after meeting with visting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali Moctar Ouane.

Ouane said that regarding its foreign affairs policy, Mali has uncompromising commitment to the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

"That is the key principle of our foreign policy and a crucial principle that regulates international law," Ouane said, adding that this primarily refers to the United Nations Charter and the African Union Charter.
In the meantime, the political director of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Borko Stefanovic, said the draft resolution on the situation in Kosovo, submitted by Kosovo Albanians at an Organization of Islamic Conference meeting in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, had experienced a fiasco and that the document that has been adopted is in line with Serbia's stands.

After a diplomatic action of Serbia, OIC member-states, with constant amendments, none of the problematic items from the Albanian proposition was included in the resolution, he said.

The resolution that was adopted in the end has a moderate and acceptable form and it quotes UN SC Resolution 1244, which is very important for Serbia. It does not affect Serbia's sovereignty in any way nor does it prejudge a solution for the status of Kosovo, said Stefanovic.
