Zavarzin: It is most desirable to renew dialogue on Kosovo status
Chairman of the Russian Duma Committee for Defense Viktor Zavarzin said at the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Riga that instability in internal political processes still remains in the Balkans and interstate territorial disputes continue, with a key negative factor being the situation regarding Kosovo.

On the eve of the ICJ decision on the legality of unilateral declaration of Kosovo independence, the best solution is a renewal of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina on the status of Kosovo, said Zavarzin.
According to him, it is appropriate to initiate a draft resolution of the UN General Assembly with an invitation to renew talks on resolution of the Kosovo status issue.
Zavarzin reminded that the socio-economic situation in Kosovo remains extremely precarious, that there are serious problems in the work of the authorities, adopted laws are not respected, while corruption is widespread.
