Majority supported Sydow's report on Kosovo

On behalf of the European United Left, Russian representative Sergei Sobko objected to the report saying it tones down the situation in Kosovo with the assessment that security is good, though, the situation in Kosovo remains unstable, and ethnic relations are tense.
On behalf of the Socialists, Italian MP Piero Fasino advocated for the renewal of negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, estimating that the ICJ will not solve the problem of the status of Kosovo.
Member of the Serbian Assembly delegation Zeljko Ivanji asked how we can be Europeans if we allow destruction of the European heritage in Kosovo.
Member of the Serbian delegation Natasa Vuckovic said that the Von Sydow report is objective and praised Rapporteur who was in the field. The report is a confirmation that all those who, like Serbia, claimed that the solution is not to declare unilateral independence of Kosovo were right, "said Vuckovic, stating that it is necessary for the Council of Europe to deal with human rights in Kosovo, while leading a policy of neutrality.
