Djukic-Dejanovic was set to meet with presidents of both houses of the Spanish parliament, as well as Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos.

Djukic-Dejanovic expressed gratitude to President of the Congress of Deputies of Spain Jose Bono Martinez for Spain's principled support to Serbia's efforts to preserve its territorial integrity and sovereignty within the borderlines recognized by the United Nations.

Spain is one of the five members of the EU that have not recognized the Kosovo Albanian unilateral declaration of independence, and according to Djukic-Dejanovic, Serbia is extremely grateful since the ratification process of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with Serbia was initiated during Spain's EU presidency.

Bono Martinez stated that Spain will "definitely be more than just an ally of Serbia in the SAA implementation process".

Djukic-Dejanovic and her host agreed that the honoring of basic principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations is an imperative nowadays, the Serbian parliament speaker's office said in a statement.
