Extraordinary session of the UN Security Council over Kosovo
An extraordinary session of the UN Security Council, called after the latest violence in Kosovo, will be held today in New York at the request of Serbia.

After a series of armed attacks in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, the session was called by the council's presiding country Nigeria, at the request of Serbia.
Serbian President Boris Tadic will be in attendance as well as UN mission in Kosovo, UNMIK, Chief Lamberto Zannier.
Late last week, unknown attackers activated a hand grenade during a peaceful Serb protest in northern Kosovska Mitrovica, killing one person and injuring 11.
Local Serbs were protesting the opening of a Kosovo Albanian government office in the northern section of the ethnically divided town.
On Monday, a Kosovo assembly member, Independent Liberal Party official Petar Miletic, was shot and wounded in the hallway of his apartment building.
According to Kosovo media, Kosovo Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni will be making the trip to New York for the UN Security Council meeting, but it is not known whether he would be allowed to speak.
