He said that Serbia is dedicated to reaching a peaceful solution of compromise.
Tadic reiterated for the Serbian citizens and the international community that no one in Serbia would ever recognize Kosovo's independence.
"At the same time, we are completely oriented towards reaching a peaceful compromise which includes the interests of the Albanians, but also the Serbs and the Serbian state. We are ready for a compromise, but never, under any circumstances, will we recognize Kosovo, and no one should try and put us in a situation in which we would have to choose between the two," Tadic said.
"I am saying openly, as a fair and predictable partner, we will never recognize Kosovo's independence implicitly or explicitly," he said.
Serbian President stated he firmly believes the International Court of Justice will find the self-declared independence of Kosovo being in discord with the international law.
In an interview to the Belgian LIBRE BELGIQUE, he stressed as unimaginable that ICJ could present a different opinion, since the direct consequence of such a decision would be 40 or so new states in the next five years.
The Serbian President has pointed out that Kosovo will not be able to become a member of UN without consent of Belgrade, which will never recognize the independence of the Province.
