The offer was sent from Brussels to Belgrade on Friday via a high official of Serbian Government. It has been pointed out that ‘this is the last offer' and that Serbia has to reply to it ‘until Thursday at the latest, before the ICJ announces its opinion', "Blic" was told by a reliable high sources from Serbian authority.
"The EU has offered to write the resolution together with Serbia and that with the help of the USA it acts as a mediator in our talks with Kosovo. That is a positive step in regard to so far hard stance that it shall accept no resolution at all. The problem is that there are no guarantees for our European perspective. We also know nothing of the EU proposal for what should be written in the resolution", "Blic" source says adding that the same message has been passed to Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic during his recent meeting with Catherine Ashton, the EU diplomacy Chief in Alma-Ata.
As "Blic" was told at Serbian Foreign Ministry yesterday, Belgrade "has no objection that the resolution is being written in cooperation with the EU, but the resolution has to mention talks on the status and those talks have to be led within frames of the UN SC Resolution 1244".
It is known that the EU is offering Serbia strong and wide autonomy for the north of Kosovo and the enclaves south of the Ibar River and "actual power of Belgrade over territory with Serbian majority".
Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic who in Alma-Ata participated at the informal ministerial meeting of the OSCE, continues lobbying for the Serbian request that negotiations over Kosovo status are opened. He announced that the session over Kosovo shall be held in August at the time when Russia will be chairing the UN Security Council, "Blic" writes.
