After signing an agreement on cooperation between the Serbian and Montenegrin governments in the defense sector, Sutanovac said that "Montenegro advocates a peaceful resolution of the Kosovo issue through negotiations, which is the only way to reach a mutually acceptable solution".
The Serbian defense minister also expressed concern over the potential escalation of violence in Kosovo, but added that NATO representatives had assured him the international armed forces in Kosovo "will suffice for the prevention of any conflicts."
Sutanovac also said that "this would be a problem that would affect the entire region." He added that Serbia "is very determined to cut any destabilization attempts in southern Serbia at the root."
Montenegrin Defense Minister Boro Vucinic said that "the issues burdening the region should be resolved in a patient manner," reiterating that Montenegro supported the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
