Manoyan: Ruling on Kosovo is a good occasion for Armenia
The International Court of Justice ruling on Kosovo is another opportunity for Armenia to stress that recognition of Artsakh independence does not contradict international law, neither it contradicts USSR laws. ARF Political Director Giro Manoyan told a press conference.

He noted that the court does not say that it recognizes Kosovo independence only. "Therefore confirmation of Kosovo independence does not contradict international law. The court merely established the fact that most declarations of independence were one-sided, and international law does not hinder one-sided declaration of independence," Manoyan stressed.
According to him, it is very important to remind international political circles that Artsakh declared independence after it had already got independent from the Soviet Azerbaijan, due to the discrimination policy of the latter.
Manoyan added that Armenia should be the first to recognize Artsakh independence if only negotiations reach a deadlock.
