Diplomatic sources told the Beta news agency that Russia's UN representative would continue consultations with Security Council members regarding the scheduling of the meeting.
Russia is interested in holding the meeting as soon as possible, the sources said.
An official of the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed for Beta that Russia wants the meeting to be held on August 3.
Russia stated earlier that its stance on Kosovo is unchanged and that it would not recognize Kosovo's independence.
Moscow adds that a solution for the Kosovo problem can only be found through a continuation of negotiations based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

Pristina has also stated that its Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni would also participate.
