Exhumation of the mass grave Belacevac starting today

President of the Serbian Government Committee for Missing Persons Veljko Odalovic has stated that the exhumation of the mass grave Belacevac should start today in Kosovo, as according to witness testimonies 25 corpses of Serbs were thrown there, including nine workers of that strip-mine, who were kidnapped in 1998 by the Albanian terrorists.

Odalovic has emphasized the constants inquiry of Belgrade in contacts with international representatives to enable the investigation on the trade in body organs of 350 kidnapped Serbs, who were illegally transferred to Albania.

He expressed hope that Special Rapporteur of the Council of Europe Dick Marty will made a report as the foundation of pressure on Albania to allow the investigation. The worst outcome would have been to leave that issue unresolved, believes Odalovic.

Members of families of missing Serbs and other non-Albanians have gathered in Gracanica, Kosovo, on the occasion of August 30th, a day dedicated to missing persons, demanding that light be shed on the fate of the missing.

The president of the Association of Families of Missing Persons, Milorad Trifunovic, called on all the officials and institutions to help them discover truth about the fate of the 538 missing Serbs and other non-Albanians.

We also appeal that light be shed on the fate of all the missing persons, regardless of their nationality, says Trifunovic.
