United States of America representatives should not directly participate in the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, daily Blic has learned from a source from the top of the EU.

The Resolution on Kosovo is to be guided by the EU negotiations, which would exclude any direct role of America, says Blic source.

A confirmation came yesterday from the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade that America will not run the talks between Serbia and Kosovo, although they did not exclude a significant influence by the US.

- "While the EU will take the lead in facilitating this dialogue, the United States intend to work constructively with all parties to ensure the success of dialogue in achieving these goals. United States, of course, support Kosovo as an independent state, we believe that this dialogue will not return to the issue of Kosovo's status."

On the other hand, in the office of Catherine Ashton, the Head of EU diplomacy, it has been confirmed that they are currently negotiating with interested parties and participants in the dialogue on the details involving the possible involvement of the United States.

- "For as long as the negotiations continue, you can not say whether the U.S. will have their representatives," reps from Ashton's office have said for Blic.
