Hashim Thaci could resign as prime minister of the Kosovo Albanian government in Pristina, said Albanian language media yesterday.

Daily Koha Ditore writes that Thaci allegedly decided to resign because of the announced way in which the postal service and the telecommunications company in Kosovo will be privatized.
B92 has learned from sources close to Thaci that the resignation could come in the next couple of days, as he is having trouble keeping the ruling coalition together after Fatmir Sejdiu's resignation last week.
According to these reports, if this scenario plays out, early elections could be held "withing 45 days".
The same sources said Thaci met with ambassadors of the so-called Quint, and speculate that early elections were the subject of the meeting.
Also on Thursday in Pristina, Thaci's deputy Hajredin Kuci denied the reports.
