Buehler: "Operation is aimed at ensuring everyday peace and stability in northern Kosovo"
KFOR Commander Erhart Buehler stated on Thursday that KFOR, EULEX and KPS are taking joint measures to ensure peace and security.

He peace and security was ensured to the south and the north of the Ibar River.
According to KFOR's press release, Buehler conferred with Ministry for Kosovo State Secretary Oliver Ivanović in Leposavic, northern Kosovo, on Thursday "so as to exchange information on the current situation to the south and north of the Ibar River".
This operation is a response to a rise in violence over the past few weeks, when several explosions and shootings took place, Buehler said and added that the operation is aimed at ensuring everyday peace and stability in northern Kosovo.
According to the release, Ivanovic agreed that it is important to reduce the number of violent incidents.
People should not be afraid of the way in which this operation is being carried out, the release reads and points out it should be clear that security forces are fighting crime, offenders and illegal possession of weapons.
There are no hidden agendas, Buehler said and added that KFOR will continue to pursue its tasks in keeping with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
