Nikolic: "Kosovo status should be discussed first"

He told that talks about so-called life issues, mentioned by Serbian President Boris Tadic, were actually establishing Kosovo as an independent state.

"I'm afraid that in the end such agreement with the Albanians will come to parliament and we'll vote against and the government in favor and there goes Kosovo," Nikolic said.

"We have already sent a warning to the EU and our government that status of Serbs north and south of the Ibar River must not change before negotiations. We must convince the public that everybody who wants to change that by force will be sternly punished," he stressed.
