The state secretary in the Serbian Ministry for Kosovo, Oliver Ivanovic told it was good that Marnac, unlike his predecessor Yves de Kermabont, had not focused all his attention on northern Kosovo.

Visit of EULEX head Xavier de Marnac to Belgrade would be focused on the situation in northern Kosovo, but that the talks would also touch on other issues from the competence of the EULEX mission, such as encouraging battle against organized crime.
In the position of EULEX head, he must retain status neutrality and must not be obsessed with northern Kosovo, as that is not the biggest issue, he said, adding the major problem lies in Pristina. EULEX should be focused on the issues of safety and property rights of Serbs in Kosovo, which are being threatened, said Ivanovic.
He added Marnac was interested in dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as the success of the EULEX mission depends on the outcome of those negotiations.
