The Government communicated that Cvetkovic thanked Almagro for the principled stance of Uruguay in defending principles of international law in regard to Kosovo and underlined that Belgrade is ready to commence dialogue with Pristina in order to find a compromise-based solution.
Jeremic repeated that a solution for the status of the southern Serbian province can only happen with agreement from all sides.
"Serbia's position has not changed. We will not recognize an independent Kosovo," said Jeremic, and thanked his Uruguayan counterpart for his country's support for the preservation of Serbia's territorial integrity.
The Uruguayan minister said it was "absolutely impossible" to recognize the Kosovo Albanian unilateral declaration of independence.
