Berisha and Kransiqi held consultations in Tirana ahead of Marty's testimony before the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee.

"A full investigation of EULEX and the Hague Tribunal is the best response to Dick Marty's inflammatory and racist report. Marty is a racist who described Albanians as kidney snatchers and Jews as recipients of those organs," the Albanian PM was quoted as saying.

He also added that Marty "needed to submit evidence for the allegations from his report to the Hague Tribunal and EULEX".

"That's an important obligation for the Council of Europe, both legal and moral one. We will support the resolution but we will present our reservations about Dick Marty's racism. The war for the liberation of Kosovo is one of the brightest moments in the Albanian history," Berisha said.

KLA veterans sign petition against Marty's report

Ethnic Albanians in the southern Serbian municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac have started signing a petition drawn up as a response to the report authored by the CoE rapporteur, who accused the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) of involvement in illegal human organ trafficking.

Public petition-signing in Presevo and Bujanovac has been organized by an organization dubbed the Association of Veterans of Liberation Army of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, which says that "Serbian state services were not interfering with the process."

Ethnic Albanians in the southern Serbian municipalities can sign the petition until January 15.

The signing was previously organized in Kosovo, as well as in Albania and Macedonia.

When the petition-signing started early in January, organizations stemming from the KLA stated that Marty had "insulted the Albanian nation".

Once the signing is completed, the petition will be submitted to the CoE.
