Pristina media: No agreement on license plates

Kosovo Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi told that no agreement had been reached on license plates with the Serbian Interior Ministry and that regulation banning the use of new Serbian license plates was still in effect.

"We haven't received anything about any agreement. The decision banning the use of new license plates with first letters of Kosovo towns issued in Serbia remains in effect," he stressed.

"Cars that have, for example, Belgrade, Kraljevo, Nis and similar license plates and other valid traffic documents can freely travel around Kosovo and that was never a problem," the Kosovo minister explained.

EULEX Spokeswoman Irina Gudeljevic told that "the EU was in contact both with Belgrade and Pristina regarding the issue and called upon all the involved parties to approach the issue in a pragmatic manner that will not violate security situation".

"We, of course, welcome all positive measures," she stressed, adding that EULEX "does not have anything more to add regarding the subject".
