Serbian delegation to PACE to support Marty's report

He adds that the Serbian delegation will also oppose any amendments that could diminish the significance of the document.

"Although everyone assumes the role of a deputy within PACE, the importance of the subject has led the Serbian delegation to unite in support for the resolution and in opposition to any amendments that could compromise it, but it is up to each individual to decide how to do it," Mićunović told.

He expects the resolution on the human organ trafficking report to be adopted and drive forward the subsequent demands for an investigation.

According to Micunovic, if the resolution receives a two-thirds majority, it will then be seen as a recommendation and gain strength, so it will definitely be brought before the Council of Ministers and the European Parliament (EP).

The delegation will travel to Strasbourg January 23, while the vote will be held January 25.

Head of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-United Serbia (JS) parliamentary group Branko Ruzic, who will also be in Strasbourg, expects the resolution to be adopted and the members of the delegation who get to speak before the assembly to focus on human rights instead of politics.

G17 Plus MP Suzana Grubjesic thinks it is important to adopt the report in its original form and avoid turning it into a political issue.

"Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolic will try to make sure the Serbian delegation stands united, so he will not do anything against Serbia's interest," deputy SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic, stressed.

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic also feels there is going to be no room for party politics at the PACE meeting.

Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) MP Milos Aligrudic, who is a member of the delegation, says the Serbian MPs should be united and work towards the adoption of the resolution in its original form.

"The delegation's task will be to prevent changes to the resolution," he added.
