At the regular session dedicated to the work of the EU civil mission in the Balkans, Marnhac said a preliminary investigation has been launched into Marty's allegations that is for the time being general in nature and that no one in particular is targeted. He announced the formation of a special team of prosecutors and investigators to deal exclusively with this issue.
Marnhac said that currently there are no problems in co-operation related to the investigation either with the Albanian justice system or with the authorities of Serbia. Responding to an MP's question whether EULEX should leave the investigation into the allegations outlined in the Marty report to another institution, Marnhac said that, in case that decisions different to the present ones are made, EULEX prosecutors will submit all documents.
