Belgrade: Attempt of forceful integration of northern Kosovo

"The attempt to assume control over administrative border crossings in northern Kosovo is totally in contradiction to the assurances given to Serbia that the reality on the terrain would not change as long the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is underway," Dacic told Tanjug early on Tuesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic condemned the intervention of special units of the Kosovo Police Service (KPS) in Zvecan and Leposavic and qualified it as "an attempt of violent integration of northern Kosovo into the so-called independent Kosovo."

"The attempt to assume control over administrative border crossings in northern Kosovo is totally in contradiction to the assurances given to Serbia that the reality on the terrain would not change as long the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is underway," Dacic told Tanjug early on Tuesday.

He said that the operation is the fulfillment of the plans Kosovo officials had been announcing for quite a while, and called on the international community to react.

"It is the obligation of the international community to preserve peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija," Dacic said.
