UN Security Council to discuss Kosovo on August 24
The UN Security Council (UNSC) will hold a regular session dedicated to Kosovo on August 24, the world organization announced on its website.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will present his regular quarterly report, but the crisis in northern Kosovo is expected to take center stage.
On July 28, UNSC member countries held closed-doors consultations on the crisis in the province, which started after the Kosovo Albanian government banned the passage of goods from Serbia and sent police special forces to take control of administrative crossings.
Serbia's Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic was not allowed to attend the session after three permanent members threatened to veto, but the Serbian delegation presented its stance on the issue to all UN member countries in the form of a public document.
Jeremic said he was kept outside the room in order to hide the truth about the events in Kosovo from the international public.
At the time, he expressed expectation UN SC member countries will have to vote on Serbia's demand to start an investigation into organ trafficking at the regular session.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called for a solution in line with UN SC Resolution 1244 and expressed concern over the unexpected operation which led to the deterioration of the situation in northern Kosovo.
