“Nothing but brute force can be expected from Thaci“

"What else to expect but brute force from someone like Hasim Taci? He does not know any better," the minister stated.

He stressed that it must not be allowed for force to become an attractive option, adding that force was not a tool for Serbia.

Commenting on the July events in Kosovo, he noted that they were a test meant to see if brute force was a viable solution.

"It worked once, when the Standards before Status policy was dropped after Priština showed in 2004 that it was prepared to burn, kill and desecrate," Jeremic pointed out.

"Following those events, Pristina hit a wall on two fronts. The first one was to get as many recognitions as possible for its unilaterally declared independence, while the other was to establish control over the northern part of the territory," he explained.

According to Jeremic, Pristina is now trying to get recognitions with money gained from crime because there is no significant economic activity in Kosovo.

"On the other front, Pristina tried to see if the use of force would be tolerated and we had to oppose that," he continued.

"The debate during the last meeting of the Security Council showed Priština and its allies that there is a high price to pay for using force," Jeremic asserted.

The foreign minister added that this referred also to those who vetoed the presidential statement proposed by Russia.
