Public company workers’ protest rallies in Kosovska Mitrovica

Some 200 public company and local self-administration workers in northern Kosovska Mitrovica rallied in peaceful protest against the announcements of Pristina authorities that they will occupy institutions in northern Kosovo

The workers gathered near the main bridge on the river Ibar, which separates the northern and southern part of the town. The deputy head of the municipal administration in Kosovska Mitrovica, in Kosovska Mitrovica, said the protestors wanted to show that they were not working in parallel, but in legal and legitimate institutions, chosen by the people, and that they did not want to be integrated in Kosovo Albanian institutions.

Last week, employees in education, judiciary, health care, EPS, etc. rallied in protests in northern Kosovo, demanding that Serbian institutions in Kosmet should be preserved and that they were against any border between Kosovo and central Serbia.
