Rice: Serbia and Kosovo will never be one again
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice warned Russia that it has to recognize the reality that Kosovo and Serbia are “never going to be one again”, or face the blame for a new tide of violence which might follow the lack of the international action over the province’s future status.

"The fact of the matter is Kosovo and Serbia are never going to be one again, and that's the reality," "USA Today" quoted Rice as saying. "And if you don't deal with that reality, you're only going to sow the seeds of considerable discontent and considerable instability."
The most powerful lady in Washington once again backed the proposal for the internationally supervised independence for Kosovo, urging the European Union to open a strong European perspective for Serbia.
"Both Kosovo and Serbia need to get on with their futures, their separate but related futures. And the way to do that is for Serbia to have a strong European perspective," said Rice. "I have been encouraging our European allies to do as much as they can to encourage that European perspective."
"There isn't any more point to further negotiation," Rice concluded.
