Albania's unique international prefix - 355 would, according to the resolution, be valid not only for fixed telephony, but also for two mobile operators with calling codes 377 and 386.
The resolution notes that the citizens of Kosovo will gain a lot at the political, economic and security level by replacing the international telephone code.
The document also requests that the Kosovo government quickly initiates negotiations with the Albanian government on using the new international prefix.
The document also envisages that, if agreements on using current international calling codes are still valid, they should be respected but not further extended.
The discussion on the resolution was held at a session on August 30. The document was adopted by the votes of 47 MPs, nine were against, while two MPs abstained from voting.
