A statement issued by the government after the meeting said that Dacic stressed that it was in the country's interest to establish good partnership relations with the United States.
The U.S. diplomat was quoted as saying that an important task ahead lay in creating a favorable climate for American investments in Serbia.
"The government of Serbia is in favor of solving the problems in Kosovo in a peaceful manner and through dialogue, and expects the assistance of the U.S. in order to reach a just and sustainable solution, while respecting the legitimate interests of both Serbs and (ethnic) Albanians," Dacic noted, according to the statement.
Dacic and Kirby also appraised that the cooperation between the two countries in combating organized crime was yielding good results.
Kirby on Wednesday presented his credentials to Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic.
