Bulgaria: Unilateral independence of Kosovo is a bad solution

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ivajlo Kalfin said in Belgrade on Tuesday that a unilateral declaration of Kosovo’s independence would not be good.

Kalfin said that "Kosovo is a sensitive issue and Bulgaria advocates dialogue."

"The important thing is that we already have a political process for resolving the Kosovo issue. We are waiting to see what will be said at the coming U.N. Security Council session," the minister said.

Kalfin and his collocutors in Belgrade agreed that Serbia's European integration and the resolution of the Kosovo issue were two separate processes.

Kalfin pointed out that Bulgaria, as a good neighbor, was particularly interested in Serbia's further development and the stability of the entire region, and was ready to make its contribution to the matter.
