He added that tangible results would be reached soon.
Mrkic had meetings with his counterparts from Western Balkans.
The Serbian foreign minister underscored that he had over 25 bilateral meetings and that this was an especially good occasion for him to meet foreign ministers from the region.
"We want the region to be ruled by cooperation and an atmosphere of hard work, so that results and not the meetings could be the news," Mrkic said.
"Of all meetings, the longest one was with Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland," the Serbian minister said and added that the methods had been designed for Kosovo not to be represented in the institution as an independent country.
Mrkic also conferred with the Albanian and Macedonian ministers of foreign affairs and noted that they reached an agreement that he should visit Tirana soon.
Reflecting on the Wednesday speech which Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic delivered before the UN General Assembly, the foreign minister said that the president presented all Serbia's stands and said that these were met with great attention and that a good impression was made.
