The purpose of the meetings is to discuss advancement of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue under the auspices of the EU, reads a statement issued by Ashton's office.

Ashton will hold separate meetings with the two prime ministers, Tanjug learned from Ashton's office, and the talks are to be followed by media statements.

The Serbian prime minister said earlier on Thursday that Belgrade is ready to start the negotiations and political dialogue with Pristina as early as tomorrow if necessary.

Dacic told reporters that Serbia is not running away from any topic, any negotiating party, or discussion with any representative of the Pristina authorities.
"The stories about us not being willing to talk because of someone on the other side are false accusations. It is in our interest to have the Kosovo issue resolved," the Kosovo prime minister underlined.
