Nikolic: Govt. should help associations

Serbia's state administration should assist the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Murdered in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) and similar associations in their common struggle to shed light on the crimes committed in KiM, and make the voice of these associations heard outside the country, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said Friday.

During a meting he had with representatives of the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Murdered in Kosovo. Director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo Aleksandar Vulin, Nikolic expressed full support to the Association, his office said in a release.

Nikolic and Vulin agreed that it was extremely important to Serbia, and especially to the families of the victims, to assist the associations in their fight for the truth and to have the perpetrators of the heinous crimes brought to justice.

The whole process should therefore be carried out with extreme care and maximum level of engagement on the part of the state administration, Nikolic said.

The representatives of the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Murdered in Kosovo-Metohija informed the Serbian president about the measures taken so far, current activities and publications issued in their long struggle to discover the truth about the fate of their family members.
